Company History
From humble beginnings to a nationwide shipping platform, our story is one of continuous growth and innovation.
The Beginning
Current ownership purchased a small local company specializing in same-day messenger service in and around Montreal - the foundation of what would become TotalShip.
Expanding Operations
Acquired a local asset LTL trucking and warehousing company servicing the Greater Montreal Area, expanding our capabilities.
TotalShip is Born
The TotalShip name was created. We added International services, cross-border LTL services, and domestic/international small parcels with FedEx, DHL, and Canpar.
Technology Focus
Recognizing the importance of technology, we began developing our proprietary shipping platform for small parcels.
Platform Launch
Sold our local messenger division and launched our proprietary small package software management tools with integrated FedEx, DHL, and Purolator services.
Carrier Expansion
Rapidly expanded our carrier network, adding Canpar (2016), then UPS, Canada Post, and Loomis (2018) to our platform.
US Expansion
Opened our US fulfillment warehouse and added USPS as a small parcel solution. Launched our new TMS to manage over-the-road and international freight.
eCommerce Integration
Developed eCommerce plugins for Shopify and WooCommerce. Initiated our first customer support ticketing system to improve response times.
Platform Expansion
Launched LTL services on our platform and introduced our new consumer single-user interface, continuing to focus on eCommerce and small business solutions.
Next-Gen Technology
Major investment in new technologies including the NoviShip platform overhaul, advanced shipment optimization algorithms, and enhanced API capabilities for enterprise customers.
